Privacy Policy — Cadence

Cadence is a task planner that is local-first: your tasks, notes, and settings are stored on your device, not on our servers. We designed the app to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

Information stored on your device

Your tasks, routines, reminders, preferences, themes, and progress are saved locally on your device (in the app's own storage). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us, except where you explicitly use the optional shared-group feature described below.

Permissions we request and how they're used

• Microphone — only when you use voice quick-add. Your speech is converted to text by your device's built-in speech recognizer. Cadence does not record, store, or send your audio to us.
• Notifications — to show reminders and alerts you schedule. Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device.
• Internet access — used for the optional encrypted sync of shared groups and to activate a Pro license after purchase. Cadence does not upload your personal task list to us.

Shared groups & sync (optional)

If you create or join a shared group, the group's task data is end-to-end encrypted on your device before it leaves it, and is relayed through a server that only ever stores encrypted data (ciphertext). We cannot read the contents of your shared tasks. If you never use groups, no task content leaves your device.

Purchases (Cadence Pro)

Pro features are unlocked via a one-time purchase processed by our third-party payment provider, Cashfree. Payments are handled on Cashfree's systems under their privacy policy; Cadence does not receive or store your card or bank details. After a successful payment, a license key is issued and stored on your device to unlock Pro.

Advertising & analytics

Cadence contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other apps or websites.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties, except the payment processing described above and any disclosure required by law.

Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. You can also clear the app's data from your device settings. For shared groups, you can leave a group to stop syncing. To request deletion of any data associated with you, contact us at the address below.

Children's privacy

Cadence is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
